MUTTON KULAMBU


INGREDIENTS:

  • Mutton - 1/2 kg
  • Sambar Onion - 1 cup
  • Tomato - 1 (medium)
  • Ginger - 1 small piece
  • Garlic Cloves - 6
  • Grinded coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Mutton masala - 3 tbsps
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Heat oil in a pressure pan.Once hot,add chopped onion.Fry them till tender.
2)Add chopped tomato.Fry them till it gets mixed with onion.


3)Add curry leaves and chopped mutton.Fry them till mutton leaves some water.


4)Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, mutton masala powder and salt. Saute
till the raw smell leaves.


5)Add grinded coconut and sufficient water and pressure cook for 6-7 whistles till mutton becomes tender.
6)Switch off the flame,after the steam leaves.Again leave the pan without lid in a medium flame and boil them till oil separates.Garnish with coriander leaves before removing from the flame.

Serve hot with Idlis,rice or rotis.

Wow Shama.. I'm in hungry now and this kari kulambu makes increases it. I love mutton kulambu, i used to fry kalpaasi, cinnamon, cloves little for the flavour and add little tamarind juice at the end while done. This would be very good for rice. Try out!! Will post soon too..:)
